Greater Shepparton City Council is proud to support the 2026 Victorian Seniors Festival, taking place throughout October.

Victoria's largest festival for older people returns from 1 to 31 October 2026, offering thousands of opportunities for older Victorians to enjoy free and low-cost events, activities and entertainment across the state.

This year's theme, "Connect. Create. Celebrate.", encourages older Victorians to stay curious, connected and active by exploring new activities, meeting new people and challenging perceptions of ageing.

Greater Shepparton has an exciting festival program planned for 2026, featuring a diverse range of events and activities designed to celebrate, engage and connect older members of our community.

About the Festival

The Victorian Government, through the Office for Senior Victorians within the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, coordinates the Victorian Seniors Festival and works closely with all 79 Victorian local councils.

Greater Shepparton City Council, in partnership with the Greater Shepparton Positive Ageing Advisory Committee, local community groups and organisations, has worked to coordinate and promote a vibrant program of events across the municipality.

From Thursday 1 October to Saturday 31 October 2026, the festival will feature a wide variety of activities designed specifically for older residents to connect with their community, learn something new and celebrate the valuable contribution seniors make to Greater Shepparton.

Seniors make up approximately 25% of Greater Shepparton's population and are recognised and valued for their wealth of knowledge, skills and experience. Council looks forward to celebrating and honouring the senior community through a range of festival activities and partnerships.
