Council’s Director Sustainable Development Johann Rajaratnam encouraged community groups to apply for a relevant grant.
“If you are involved in a community group who need funding for an event, have a look at our website to see if you would be eligible for Council funding,” Mr Rajaratnam said.
A range of projects and events can be funded. In the most recent funding round Katandra West received a Small Town Festive Decorations Grant which the community used to install a mock Christmas Tree hung with huge baubles, tinsel and presents. At night thousands of fairy lights could be seen on the trees leading into Katandra and the old hall was heavily decorated with lights.
