Shepparton Carols by Candlelight is celebrating its 40th anniversary. This years’ program includes community favourites The Shepparton Brass and Wind and The GV Pipes and Drums. The energetic kids group Voice Works will kick off the night at 6:30pm.
Multiple Georgy Award winner Nicky Pummeroy and many other talented locals will encourage the audience to join in and sing along. They will be supported by the Turaton Music Company Christmas Choir.
The evening will finish with the traditional GMCU fireworks show, however this year to celebrate Carols 40th anniversary the fireworks will be one to remember. The spectacular display will light up the sky over the Queens Gardens to thrill the audience.
The organising committee wish to advise any pet owners within the vicinity to bring their animals indoors from 9:45pm - 10:15pm
This year’s event will be co-hosted by ABC radio breakfast presenter Matt Dowling and Jamie Lea, a talented local performer.
Live performances from some of the Goulburn Valley’s most talented singers and musicians will start at 6.30pm in the Queens Gardens and conclude with the biggest ever GMCU fireworks at approximately 9.30pm.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Sustainable Development Johann Rajaratnam said this year’s event promised an exciting program of performers.
“This is the perfect opportunity to relax with your family and friends and enjoy everything that represents Christmas,” Mr Rajaratnam.
The event is free thanks to funding and in-kind support from many local organisations, including Greater Shepparton City Council, the Goulburn Murray Credit Union (GMCU), Shepparton News and Newsprinters, Shepparton Show Me, Foott Waste, ONE FM 98.5 and SPC Ardmona Factory Sales.
Please bring chairs, cushions and rugs. Carol books, candles, food and drink will also be available for sale from 5:30pm on the night. Accessible seating is available to book by contacting Riverlinks on (03) 5832 9511.
