The contract for the reconstruction of Welsford Street – Stages 1 & 2 (Knight Street to Nixon Street) has been awarded to Mawson Constructions Pty Ltd. The reconstruction works will commence on site on Friday, 21 April 2017.
Welsford Street from Knight Street to Fryers Street will be closed to south bound traffic as the drainage works commence from Friday, 21 April 2017. The proposed detour will be through Wyndham Street (Goulburn Valley Highway) to High Street (Midland Highway). The north bound traffic will flow through Welsford Street at restricted speed.
There will be minimal car parking in the aforementioned section of Welsford Street but access to the businesses and residences along the street will be maintained.
The works will cause a temporary inconvenience in the area and we ask for the community’s compliance with all the traffic management signage.
The reconstruction works are programmed to be completed by the end of August 2017.
