Greater Shepparton City Council local residents are invited to attend a free Come ‘n’ Try Day at Kialla Park Recreation Reserve, followed by a free BBQ on Friday 7 February from 6.00pm to 7.30pm. The event is being held to find out what improvements residents would like to see at the Recreation Reserve in the future.
Greater Shepparton City Council is currently preparing a master plan for Kialla Park Recreation Reserve and would like to know the views not only of existing users, but also of residents who may live near the Reserve, or of people who use the facility on an informal basis.
The Recreation and Parks team will be at Kialla Park reserve on Friday 7th February from 6.00-7.30pm to seek ideas from local residents about how the Reserve should best be developed to cater for the growing community in the Kialla area and how it can best cater for the changing sport and recreation needs of people in general. Greater Shepparton City Council has also invited existing user groups such as cricket, tennis, bowls and AFL football to provide opportunities for people to try out their sport for free as an added bonus.
Mayor Jenny Houlihan said “Come down to the free BBQ and talk about the future of Kialla Park. This is one of the best ways to see how Kialla Park currently functions, with sporting groups showcasing there involvement at Kialla Park. It may also help some of the local clubs recruit more members or players.”“Everyone is most welcome to attend the event. The Recreation and Parks team are particularly looking forward to hearing resident’s ideas on how to improve the Recreation Reserve, including the condition of sporting facilities, roadways, car parks, landscaping, pedestrian links or any other aspects deemed to be of importance,” said Mayor Houlihan.
