Thursday 4th of June, 2026,
Greater Shepparton City Council along with the Victorian Government will host a free live stream of the Socceroos’ FIFA World Cup 2026 opening match against Turkey on Sunday 14 June 2026 at the Shepparton Showgrounds Multi-Purpose Pavilion.
Gates will open from 12pm for the game to kick off at 2pm. This is a free event for all community members.
The event will feature live screening of the match, kids’ activities, football zone and food trucks, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for residents of all ages.
The venue has accessible parking, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets for seating. This will be an alcohol-free, family-friendly event.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the event is a great opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate the game and the region’s diversity.
“Shepparton is a proud multicultural community, with people from all over the world calling our region home,” he said.
“The FIFA World Cup is a special event that only comes around every four years, and it gives everyone the chance to get behind their team while celebrating our shared love of the game.”
“We encourage everyone to come along, get in early to enjoy the kids football activities and enjoy the atmosphere, and experience what’s known as the beautiful game together.”
This event is supported by the Victorian Government as part of a program to deliver FIFA World Cup live site experiences
