Greater Shepparton City Council wishes to advise that brand new toilets are now open and ready for public use in Tatura at the Mactier Gardens.
As part of Council’s 10 year Toilet Redevelopment Plan, Mactier Gardens was a high priority. The brand new toilet facility has now been built and includes male, female and all abilities facilities. The toilets are appropriately located in a high activity area allowing increased safety, easy access and convenience.
With this, the old unisex toilet located at the end of Flanagan Place (Mactier Gardens) is due to be demolished in the last week of October.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Steve Bowmaker said the old toilet is outdated and poses more issues than it does benefits.
“It currently doesn’t meet disability access requirements and is in poor condition. It is also regularly subject to graffiti and antisocial behavior, which is not encouraged.
“Its location also poses safety risks as it is not clearly visible from the main road,” he said.
The new toilets provide a much better level of amenity for residents and visitors.
