Exciting new upgrades planned for KidsTown
Posted on
Monday 25th of May, 2026,
Greater Shepparton City Council is pleased to announce scheduled upgrades at KidsTown Adventure Playground, improving the popular community asset with additional recreational features.
The project will deliver a new concrete sports court, including a half basketball court, pickleball court, hopscotch markings and a large interactive chess board, catering to a wide range of ages and abilities.
The upgrades follow remediation works undertaken earlier this year, which removed unsafe and expired equipment and prepared the site for future enhancements.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the project builds on the progress already made at KidsTown.
“This is another step forward in ensuring KidsTown can be enjoyed by future generations. It is a much-loved community asset, and we recognise its importance to our community,” he said.
Works are scheduled to commence on Monday 25 May 2026 and are expected to take approximately five weeks to complete, weather permitting.
During construction, the section of the site where works are taking place will be temporarily closed. The community is asked to observe all signage and remain clear of the area for their safety.
Once complete, the upgraded facilities will support a broader range of recreational activities and provide new opportunities for community engagement.
These works are separate from the KidsTown Master Plan, which remains in progress. Further information and consultation will be provided throughout its development.
