The Greater Shepparton Women's Charter Alliance Advisory Committee invite community members to attend their free International Women's Day event on Tuesday 8 March, as part of the Shepparton Festival.
All are welcome to come together to be consumed by the achievements of women, and to celebrate the role women play in the community.
Inspiring women will tell us their 'Stories of Prejudice and Pride', and explore the obstacles they have had to overcome to get to a place of pride. The guest speakers are:
The conversations will be facilitated by local woman Fiona Smolenaars. Fiona has her own facilitation business, Innovative Outcomes, specialising in community development, strategic planning and project management.
As well as being inspired by the guest speakers, there will be food, entertainment, and the results of the #SuperWomanPose campaign will be on display.
GSWCAAC Charter Champion and Mayor Dinny Adem is encouraging people to come along and celebrate this significant day.
“The International Women’s Day event will be an opportunity to get together with others and be inspired by the stories of some amazing women,” Cr Adem said.
“It is also an opportunity to enjoy the entertainment that is on offer, as well as the food.”
“I encourage women and men to grab a free ticket and attend this wonderful event.”.
The International Women’s Day event is alcohol free.
