Greater Shepparton City Council is working with International Dairy Week to improve the comfort of visitors to the venue, with funding provided from the 2016/17 budget to include air cooling to the Indoor Arena.
Greater Shepparton City Council acknowledges the contribution to visitor economy provided by hirers of Tatura Park Exhibition and Equestrian Complex, including the hallmark event International Dairy Week. This event, which is in its 26th year, plays a significant role in the Greater Shepparton events calendar and has enormous impact on the small town of Tatura.
Greater Shepparton City Council has agreed to provide project funding to improve the comfort inside the Indoor Arena. Council is currently undertaking research into the best possible solution with an aim to have this completed by International Dairy Week in 2018.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Dinny Adem acknowledges the benefits of the venue’s events. “International Dairy Week generates an economic impact of approximately $2.2 million, with over 6000 visitors to this iconic event.
“Last year the Tatura Park Exhibition & Equestrian Complex hosted over 50 events, seeing near 20,000 visitors attend the site for a range of local, state and National events as well as International Dairy Week. These events are a real boon for Tatura and Greater Shepparton.”
International Dairy Week Director Scott Lord appreciated Greater Shepparton City Council’s ongoing commitment to the event. “International Dairy Week appreciates the investment by Greater Shepparton City Council to their annual event. With the installation of a cooling system at Tatura Park both local and international visitors will be able to enjoy events held at the facility in a much more comfortable environment.”
