Greater Shepparton City Council is encouraging residents to pre-purchase their tickets for the AFL NAB Challenge match between Hawthorn and North Melbourne, to be played at Deakin Reserve on Sunday 8 March.
Council’s Director Sustainable Development Johann Rajaratnam said capacity at Deakin Reserve is limited and ticket sales have been extremely strong, so anyone planning on attending should get their tickets beforehand.
“There may only be limited tickets available on the day, so to avoid missing out or risk being in long queues, people should purchase their tickets beforehand.” Mr Rajaratnam said.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for people to see the 2014 premiers take on last year’s preliminary finalists for the first time this year.”
“This is really a family-friendly event with ticket prices ranging from $4 for a child (aged under 14) to $36 for a family of six. There will also be an AFL themed free kid zone presented by Council, including face painting, jumping castle, balloon creations and AFL football zone.
“If you are a football fan, I encourage to you take the opportunity to see some of your AFL heroes at our premier regional sporting facility.”
“People are also encouraged to plan ahead and if you are attending, to think about carpooling or parking further away and walking to the ground as car parking around Deakin Reserve will be limited.”

Gates open at 2:30pm with the first bounce at 4.40pm.
