Greater Shepparton City Council and Shepparton Show Me are excited to announce a partnership with RED HILL Entertainment (RED HILL) to add a new music event to the major events calendar.
Coming to the Shepparton Showgrounds will be a lineup of headline artists taking to the stage on 2 November 2019.
Following a public expression of interest process that sort proposals for the development of large scale music festival in Greater Shepparton RED HILL has been awarded the rights to create a long standing iconic music event which is enjoyed by everyone.
Greater Shepparton City Council Deputy Mayor Seema Abdullah said the music festival has been a long awaited event for the community and is expecting thousands to attend.
“Council continues its hard work in obtaining events to significantly increase visitors to the region,” said Cr Abdullah.
“Together with Shepparton Show Me and RED HILL we hope to attract 2,500 to 3,000 attendees for the first event.”
Chair of Shepparton Show Me, Simon Quattrocchi envisions the event to attract audiences from across the state and contributing to the towns’ economic growth.
“We are aiming for a number of visitors to travel from the likes of Melbourne and other parts of Victoria who will stay locally and indulge in what Shepparton has to offer,” Mr Quattrocchi said.
Having delivered more than 20 music festival events over the past 10 years, Co-Director of RED HILL Aidan McLaren said they are looking forward to developing a show in the region.
"We're incredibly excited to be partnering with Greater Shepparton City Council and Shepparton Show Me to establish a large-scale all-ages music event here in Greater Shepparton. Having developed regional events in other parts of the state we believe there is enormous potential for such an event here and are really looking forward to working with the local community and local businesses to make it a huge success,” Mr McLaren said.
RED HILL will be soon seeking community consultation regarding naming the event and selecting artists to appear at the inaugural festival.
Creating an event for the community, RED HILL wants the residents of Shepparton to get involved and have their say on this exciting new music festival.
Members of the public will be able to participate in an online survey to help determine what the community wants to call the event and give their input into which artists they would like to see perform.
Further event information will be available in the near future.
