The Australian Socceroos will take on Paraguay, with the free live screening event proudly delivered by Greater Shepparton City Council in partnership with the Victorian Government.
The community is invited to experience the excitement of the global stage in a vibrant and inclusive setting, with gates opening from 11am ahead of the 12pm kick-off.
Following the success of the previous live site event, another strong turnout is expected, with families, young people and passionate football supporters coming together to support the Socceroos as they attempt to progress in their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
The free live screening aims to once again capture the spirit of community and connection, providing an opportunity for residents to share in the excitement of a major international sporting event.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the event will build on the strong momentum and community pride seen at the previous match screening
“We’re grateful to the Victorian Government for providing this opportunity to once again bring our community together to support the Socceroos on the world stage,” he said.
“After the incredible success of the last event, which saw more than 700 people come together, it was an opportunity we simply couldn’t pass up. The atmosphere was fantastic, and we’re excited to recreate that experience for the midday clash against Paraguay.
“There’s something special about sharing these moments as a community, and we encourage everyone to come along and be part of it. We’ll all be behind the Socceroos, hoping they can secure a win or draw to lock in second spot in the group and progress automatically.”
Event organisers are encouraging attendees to arrive early, dress warmly and enjoy the pre-game atmosphere ahead of kick-off. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own seating and picnic rugs.
A selection of food trucks will once again be on site, creating a lively, festival atmosphere with plenty of food and drink options for attendees to enjoy.
The continued delivery of World Cup live site events, in partnership with the Victorian Government, reflects Greater Shepparton’s commitment to creating accessible and engaging opportunities for the community to connect through sport and shared experiences.
Community members are encouraged to wear their football colours and show their support at the live screening.
After the final whistle, visitors are encouraged to make the most of their day by heading into the Shepparton CBD to enjoy the vibrant Eat, Play, Stay & Shop activities, showcasing the best of local food, shopping and experience in Greater Shepparton.
