Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking community feedback on the draft RiverConnect 2017-2022 Strategic Plan.
RiverConnect’s vision is to connect people with our local rivers and wetlands, and the plan outlines the strategic priorities and programs to achieve this.
A number of key focus areas have been identified including:

Greater Shepparton Mayor, Cr Dinny Adem encouraged people to have their say on the plan.
“We are so lucky to have rivers and wetlands right on our doorstep that provide so many opportunities to enjoy the natural environment, such as a walk or ride along the river, the regular free RiverConnect Spotlight Walks and the annual Bat Walk and Turtle Talk,” Cr Adem said.
“There are a number of activities happening where you will be able to chat to RiverConnect staff and share your ideas and feedback on the plan.”

RiverConnect is a project that aims to see the Goulburn and Broken Rivers recognised as the life and soul of the Shepparton-Mooroopna communities.
RiverConnect is a community project in partnership with Greater Shepparton City Council, Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, Parks Victoria, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Department of Education and Training, Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation, Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative, Word and Mouth, Goulburn Murray Landcare Network and Goulburn Valley Environment Group.
