Greater Shepparton City Council reminds people that the Toolamba Bridge is currently closed to all traffic.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Steve Bowmaker says Council will begin works to repair the Toolamba Bridge in the next two weeks.
"The works will include stripping the asphalt overlay so we can inspect and replace failed decking. At present officers are having difficulty finding a supplier of suitable decking to replace the failed timbers. Once we have secured a supply, the decking works will be completed."
"At this time we cannot give a guaranteed timeframe for the bridge reopening but we will continue to brief the public as soon as we have a timeframe that we can commit to," said Mr Bowmaker.
Motorists should not move barriers and signage to allow access to travel on the bridge.
A detour is currently in place for people travelling to and from Toolamba via Shepparton and Mooroopna.
Council appreciates the inconvenience this closure is causiong for local motorists and thanks the community for their ongoing patience.
