Following last year’s successful pilot program, Greater Shepparton City Council will continue to offer monthly Creative City Networking Sessions in 2023, providing opportunities for the local creative community to connect, explore new ideas and collaborations, develop practice and build sustainability.
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Creative City Coordinator, Anita Larkin, says the sessions are designed to energise and nurture the region’s diverse local creative community.
“The gatherings are informal, friendly and inclusive free events, held monthly in various spaces around Greater Shepparton. They are being offered through Greater Shepparton City Council’s Creative City Strategy and have been programmed collaboratively with local creatives who will host the events.”
The 2023 series will launch during the Shepparton Festival in March, with a hybrid in-person and online session held at the Festival Hub on Monday 27 March from 6pm to 8pm. The session and will feature two of this year’s Shepparton Festival artists; Olivia Evans- Smith and Tegan Nash Ollett. In conversation with Shepparton Festival’s Creative Director Kristen Retallick, they will take a deep dive into the process of developing projects from inception to delivery, and becoming involved in arts festivals to produce and present work.
Further Creative City Networking Sessions will be programmed and announced monthly and will provide a mix of listening and learning, hands on activities, as well as time for networking. Refreshments will also be provided.
Places are limited and registrations are essential.
