RiverConnect will be celebrating 10 years since its inception on Tuesday 15 December with an event at Victoria Park Lake.
RiverConnect is a community-driven project that aims to see the Goulburn and Broken Rivers recognised as the life and soul of the Shepparton-Mooroopna communities.
During its 10 years, RiverConnect has achieved many significant outcomes, including;
Greater Shepparton Mayor and Chair of RiverConnect Cr Dinny Adem said RiverConnect aims to raise awareness of the environmental, cultural, recreational and economic value of the rivers.
“RiverConnect has achieved many positive outcomes for our community and environment over the past 10 years and I look forward to seeing strong outcomes into the future,” Cr Adem said.
“I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in RiverConnect over the 10 years of the project. Your input has been invaluable.”
RiverConnect is supported by Greater Shepparton City Council and The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority in partnership with Parks Victoria, Department of Environment, Water, Land and Planning, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development Central Sub Region, Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation, Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative, Word and Mouth, Goulburn Murray Landcare Network and Goulburn Valley Environment Group.
