Local business people who want to see Shepparton as the place in regional Victoria to do business, shop, dine, stay and play are strongly encouraged to put their hands to join the Shepparton Show Me (SSM) Committee.
Currently there are five positions available, for a period of either one or two years. Those with fresh ideas, enthusiasm and big picture thinking, now is the time to apply.
Applicants should have established business networks within Shepparton and be willing to work in a team environment with other business people in strategically marketing Shepparton with the aim of driving business for the local economy. An understanding of marketing and stakeholder management and business planning is preferable. An appreciation of business issues across a range of industry sectors and challenges to the local economy is also important.
The Shepparton Show Me Committee comprises of 12 voting members including nine representatives of the Shepparton business community, two councillors and a representative from Council’s Executive.
In addition to this there are three non-voting Council representatives including a representative from Investment Attraction, Marketing and Communications, and the Shepparton Show Me Marketing Coordinator.
The Committee meets once a month to discuss planned promotional activities, sponsorship applications and general issues concerning the Shepparton business community.
