People driving on Wyndham Street near Victoria Park Lake are being asked to take care around the drainage roadworks currently under construction at the Hayes Street junction as the traffic conditions will change on a daily basis.
Greater Shepparton City Council Capital Works Planning Coordinator, David Barraclough says the area is subject to changing set-ups which may differ from day to day. “We ask that people using Wyndham Street exercise caution in the vicinity of these works and adhere to the speed limits and the direction given by road traffic controllers.”
“Wyndham Street will remain open to traffic travelling in both directions however parking will be reduced at times as the works progress through each Phase,” he said. “We are currently in Phase 1 but will move into Phase 2 on Tuesday 9 September which will see two lanes reduced to one lane each way and reduced parking on both sides of the road.”
“The traffic may be slow at times and commuters may experience delays but we ask that people be patient. Council and VicRoads need to ensure the safety of both road workers and drivers so the works can proceed as planned,” said Mr Barraclough.
“Next week there will be diversions for vehicles wanting to turn right from Sobraon Street into Wyndham Street and local drivers may wish to consider other routes temporarily.”
