Last weekend saw close to 5,000 visitors make their way to Victoria Park Lake for Shepparton’s largest community festival, Converge on the Goulburn.
More than just a festival Converge brings together food, culture and performances from Greater Shepparton’s Aboriginal and multicultural communities in celebrating the richness of our region.
There was a lot to do at last weekend’s festival with a number of food trucks and local vendors offering tasty authentic foods from all corners of the globe, interactive cultural workshops and activities including henna, hair braiding, turban wrapping, arts and crafts and aboriginal story telling demonstrations.
The festival was full of colour, movement and nonstop music from performers Collin Bogaars, Know Your Roots, Heard Instinct Collective, Shema, Bangarang dancers, Oz Team, Shepparton Albanian Society and the headline act Lamine Sonko and African Intelligence.
If you attended Converge on the Goulburn we would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on how we can make this event better in the future.
