Greater Shepparton City Council has recently welcomed the addition of a new grader and front end loader to our fleet of infrastructure machinery.
The Grader is a 12M series featuring the latest up to date technology, with laser technology figuration for accurate levelling. The M series are controlled by joy sticks that replace the steering wheel and levers to control implements, reducing operator fatigue and improving productivity.
The new Cat M series has the latest emission reduction technology, offers greater fuel efficiency and up-to-date safety features.
Council uses road graders on a daily basis for grading and maintaining unsealed roads, grading of dry weather roads, construction of new roads, maintaining car park, unsealed tracks at sports fields and the grading of unsealed shoulders.
This latest technology allows Council to be better equipped to overcome most of the challenges in maintaining roads, including 1300km of unsealed surfaces.
The new JCB 427 front loader replaces our previous loader, which has been with Council's fleet for over 20 years, and therefore needed an update due to continuous hard use and the age of the machinery.
The JCB 427 will be used to load recycled crushed concrete and brick for landscaping purposes. (Residents andcommercial customers can purchase crushed concrete, brick and mulch from Council's Shepparton Resource Recovery Centre).
The JCB 427 helps to relocate items within the Resource Recovery Centre such as concrete, bricks, wood waste, garden waste and plaster waste. The loader is also used to compact waste in skip bins for more efficient use of skip bins, and for clean up around the general drop off areas.
The JCB 427 loader is used daily as the Shepparton Resource Recovery Centre is open 7 days a week.
Council staff are very excited about the newest addition to the fleet and look forward to using them for the benefit of the community.
