Greater Shepparton City Council contactors have been working on stage two of the Verney Road upgrade between Hawkins Street and Graham Street. The works began in February and are due to be completed by late September 2016.
Stage 2 of the Verney Road works include new underground storm water drainage, renewing an old Goulburn Valley Water main, relocation of power poles, road pavement construction, Hotmix asphalt, concrete works, line-marking and street furniture.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director of Infrastructure, Steve Bowmaker, said “the works are a month behind schedule with delays due to bad weather and the availability of contractors for the relocation of some services. I would like to thank residents for their patience during the works and it will be worthwhile once the works are completed,” Mr Bowmaker said.
The first stage from Ford Road to Hawkins Street was completed in May 2015 and the final stages will be constructed over the next two financial years.
