Iconic performers Vika Bull and Debra Byrne will be reimagining the songs of one the most successful and revered female songwriters in pop music history this Saturday night at Shepparton's Eastbank Centre.
Carole King’s album, Tapestry, was No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for 15 weeks, with over 25 million copies sold worldwide. It is considered to be one of the most important pop albums of the 20th century, producing mega hits “I Feel the Earth Move”, “You’ve Got a Friend”, “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, “It’s Too Late” and “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”.
Both Vika and Debra have been inspired throughout their careers by the work of Carole King. “A true singer songwriter, Carole King doesn’t write to get on the radio. She writes because it is all coming from her heart”, says Debra.

Vika has been a prominent part of the Australian music landscape for over 25 years. Since a multi-platinum conquest of pop radio with the Black Sorrows in the late 1980s, Vika has forged a diverse pathway into soul, gospel, blues, country and the island music of her Tongan ancestry.
Likewise, Debra is an Australian pop icon, being chosen as one of the six original members of Young Talent Time at age 14. By the time she was 16, Debra had won a Logie and the Queen of Pop Award, as well as having a single at No. 1 for seven weeks.
Tapestry is a well-curated homage to Carole King, including well known hits, as well as vignettes of her life.
Tickets are available online or through the Riverlinks Box Office: 03 5832 9511.
