Greater Shepparton City Council would like to inform the community rolling road closures will be in place on Welsford Street on Wednesday 5 February.
Shepparton will host the prestigious Jayco Herald Sun Tour and will be the finishing spot for stage 1 men’s tour and the start and finish spot for stage 1 women’s tour.
The men’s race will travel from Nagambie to Shepparton via Murchison, Tatura and Mooroopna, and the women’s race will travel from Shepparton to Shepparton via Mooroopna and Tatura.
To ensure the safety of the riders, spectators and the community, temporary changes to traffic conditions and vehicle access will be put into place.
Rolling road closures will be in place along Welsford Street between 6am and 9pm.
There will be no parking permitted during these times. For access to local businesses please use alternate parking options.
Traffic management will be stopping traffic only as the race passes through. Delays between 15-30 minutes are expected.
The race will be entering the Welsford St finish line from Mooroopna direction for both race finishes and exiting towards Mooroopna for the Women’s race start.
More detailed race route information can be found on the event website including course maps and descriptions.
Traffic management will be allowing access into Aquamoves from Sobroan and Wyndham Streets. All vehicles will need to exit Aquamoves along Tom Collins Drive, through Fitzjohn Street.
We encourage anyone interested in spectating to come down to Welsford St to support some of the world’s best cyclists battle it out for the 2020 Jayco Herald Sun Tour honours.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the support of the public in ensuring that the event is a success.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
