Complimentary parking starts December

Greater Shepparton City Council is pleased to be providing complimentary parking in Council-owned on-street parking spaces during December and January, to support local businesses and bring some festive cheer to the CBD.

In Summary

  • Complimentary parking in Council owned on-street spaces will be available from 2 December 2024 to 31 January 2025, supporting local businesses and encouraging festive shopping in the CBD.
  • Standard time limits remain in effect, with infringements issued for overstaying. Residents planning longer visits are encouraged to use complimentary off-street parking options.
  • Complimentary parking does not apply to the Multi Deck car park, Goulburn Valley Health, or Carepark car parks.
  • Mayor Cr Shane Sali highlights the initiative as a great way to support local businesses while enjoying cost-free parking during the holiday season.

Complimentary parking begins on Monday 2 December 2024 and ends on Friday 31 January 2025, returning to paid on-street parking again on Monday 3 February 2025.

Time limits still apply for the parking spaces during this period and infringements will be issued to anyone who overstays the time displayed on the signs for the area.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the initiative is a great way to encourage the community to shop local during the holiday season.

“This initiative gives residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy all the CBD has to offer while saving on parking costs during December and January. However, we remind everyone to observe time limits,” he said.

“For those planning a longer shopping trip, off-street longer-stay or all-day parking spaces near the CBD are the best option. These car parks remain complimentary year-round.”

The complimentary parking does not apply to the Multi Deck car park, Goulburn Valley Health or Carepark car parks.
