Thursday 4th of September, 2025,
Greater Shepparton City Council proudly celebrated the graduation of the 2025 Community Leadership Program cohort at a special event held on Wednesday 3 September 2025 in Shepparton.
The 2025 Community Leadership Program, funded by Council, has continued its 12-year tradition of providing an accessible and respected platform for local emerging leaders to cultivate their leadership skills. This year’s program, facilitated by Shane Garner Consulting, featured seven workshops covering key topics such as communication preferences, community leadership, public speaking, goal setting & monitoring, understanding community & diversity, reflection & resilience and presentations.
Over the past four months, 19 participants have also had the opportunity to participate in online mentoring and 1:1 coaching, honing their leadership abilities and building a network of valuable connections. The graduation event celebrated their achievements and the progress they have made throughout the program.
Greater Shepparton City Council Deputy Mayor, Councillor Anthony Brophy congratulated the participants on their success.
“It is inspiring to see the progress of this year’s graduates. Their commitment to learning and their willingness to embrace new challenges reflects the future leadership of our community,” he said.
“The Community Leadership Program not only builds vital skills, it strengthens local networks and creates lasting connections that lead to real change. These graduates now have the confidence and knowledge to step forward, take on challenges and contribute to a stronger Greater Shepparton.”
Council congratulates the 2025 graduates and looks forward to seeing them apply their knowledge and connections to benefit the wider community.
