In May this year, the Greater Shepparton Youth Leading the World Congress brought together some of our region's most passionate and driven young minds for a two day event that left a lasting impact on all who attended.
Organised by Greater Shepparton City Council with the aim of inspiring and equipping our youth with the tools and knowledge to become the leaders of tomorrow, the congress provided an invaluable platform for students from across Greater Shepparton to connect, collaborate and engage in meaningful discussions about the future of our region. The energy in the room was palpable as these young leaders delved into important topics such as climate action, social change and community improvement.
The congress wasn't just about talking; it was about taking action. Students participated in workshops and brainstorming sessions, developing innovative ideas and actionable plans to address the challenges facing our community. These ideas were then presented at the Community Forum, showcasing the incredible potential and creativity of our youth.
The below highlight video from the congress captures the enthusiasm and dedication of these young leaders and offers a glimpse into the dynamic and collaborative environment that defined the event, highlighting the students' commitment to making a positive difference in Greater Shepparton and beyond.
As we look to the future, it's clear that our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are already making their mark today. Their passion and vision for a better world are inspiring, and we are excited to see the positive changes they will continue to bring to our region.
This Council led initiative was funded by State Government, Departments of Family, Fairness and Housing and Energy, Environment and Climate Action.
