Featuring Australia’s Hottest Bands, DJs, Carnival Rides, Market Stalls, Food Trucks & more
Greater Shepparton City Council and Shepparton Show Me in partnership with Red Hill Entertainment are excited to officially announce “Land of Plenty” –a brand new one-day, all ages major music festival taking over the Shepparton Showgrounds on Saturday 2 November.
Land of Plenty is a destination festival that will see some of Australia's hottest bands and DJs as well as talented upcoming local artists hit Shepparton for a day of live music, art displays, market stalls, gourmet food vans and carnival rides. Land of Plenty has something for everyone and encourages fans and music lovers of all ages to attend.
The festival name and artwork was inspired by the local community and their enthusiasm for a music festival to be held in Shepparton. With an overwhelming 500+ survey submissions from locals wanting to help name and shape the hometown event, Land of Plenty was born.
Greater Shepparton City Council Deputy Mayor Councillor Shelley Sutton said the music festival has been a greatly anticipated event for the region.
"The community has expressed their desires to see more large scale music, arts and cultural events in the region and we are sure the public will be greatly entertained at Land of Plenty," Cr Sutton said.
"Council and Shepparton Show Me are excited to partner with Red Hill Entertainment who have successfullly hosted one of the nation's leading camping festival's Unify Gathering."
So who’s playing Land of Plenty? Whilst the line-up is still top-secret, that all-important question is set to be revealed on Tuesday 14 May (8.30am AEST). It includes a wide mix of genres, from hip hop, through to rock and indie, whilst the two headlining acts have previously featured in the coveted triple j Hottest 100 countdown 15 times, and each have even featured in the Top 10.
As well as featuring some of Australia’s biggest bands, Land of Plenty is giving one lucky local Shepparton act the chance to perform on the Land of Plenty big stage. To be considered, artists should email hello@landofplentyfestival.com with the subject line “Pick of the Crop”, explaining in 150 words your act, what you’ve achieved so far, and why you’d love to play Land of Plenty.
"We are encouraging locals to really get behind this exciting event to support and help it become an iconic music festival for the region," Cr Sutton said.
Tickets for Land of Plenty go on sale at 9am AEST, Thursday 16 May for $99 (General Admission) and $149 for The Big Apple VIP ticket.
