Greater Shepparton City Council is excited to announce the release of the Shepparton and Goulburn Valley Official Visitor Guide (OVG) 2023 edition.
The OVG provides a comprehensive overview of things to see and do across Shepparton & Goulburn Valley, presenting tourism providers with marketing opportunities that directly target intrastate and interstate visitors.
Through an extensive distribution network, the publication can be found at Victorian and cross border Visitor Centres, as well as within accommodation properties, restaurants, retail businesses and attractions across the region who partnered in the guide’s production.
Highlighting the very best of Shepparton and Goulburn Valley, the 2023 edition is the most complete guide for anyone looking to come and discover the diversity of experiences the region has to offer.
This time, curated itineraries for every type of visitor can be found; from family friendly to fun seekers, cultural appreciators to business visitors, the OVG aims to facilitate the best experience for anyone coming to the region.
Featuring a vibrant new destination branding, the OVG invites people to ‘Come and see for yourself’, discover the cultural diversity, ancestral heritage, unique towns and rich history; whether for one day or a full holiday.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, highlighted the importance of the Visitor Guide to boost the region’s economy and to acknowledge the outstanding work of local providers.
“The OVG is a great tool to maximise the tourist experience. It provides visitors with everything they need to know to enjoy Shepparton and Goulburn Valley, whilst recognising the fantastic products and services of local suppliers,” he said.
“In 2022/2023 the total tourism spend in Greater Shepparton was $341M, showcasing the significant value of this industry even after a couple of challenging years for tourism providers.”
“The Visitor Guide offers the opportunity to promote local businesses to a wider audience, helping to stimulate several industries such as hospitality, entertainment and retail, aiming to support jobs and continuous development,” Cr Sali said.
Local Visitor Economy businesses and attractions, including the Museum of Vehicle Evolution Curator Jade Burly, welcomed the delivery of the new guide.
“Having a Visitor Guide of this calibre is great for a couple of reasons. It is an amazing resource we can provide to our visitors, who have often cruised up from Melbourne and are looking to make the most of their road trip to the Goulburn Valley. It is also great to share with locals to remind them of all the amazing things our region has to offer.”
Greater Shepparton City Council invites community members to grab a copy and explore the region, invite friends and family over these up-coming holidays and showcase the wonderful sights and activities to do in our own vicinity.
