KidsTown Adventure Playground is a cherished symbol of local pride and creativity and has provided a safe and stimulating environment for children of all ages and abilities for many years.
With regular community consultation for its revitalisation, planning, development and construction works, this highly anticipated project will follow the below timeline:
- 12 September - 31 October 2025 Consultation on remediation work was undertaken via Shaping Greater Shepp with over 250 ideas and questions submitted by the community. We also held two community drop-in sessions out at KidsTown to share info and answer any questions.
- November 2025 The tender for removal of defective equipment and site remediation was awarded at the November Council Meeting.
- February - March 2026 Remediation works were completed, including the removal of defective equipment.
- April - May 2026 Masterplan Design tender to be released.
- July - August 2026 Community consultation on the design for the next stage of construction will be undertaken.
- Dates TBC Construction work to begin.
