The Greater Shepparton City Council expresses its deepest sympathy for the people of Albania and those in our community whose families have been affected by this tragedy. Shepparton has a sister city Korce in Albania and our connections go back more than 100 years with the arrival of the first Albanian migrants in Australia. We have a large Albanian community in Greater Shepparton, the biggest outside of Albania.
The Shepparton Albanian Society has organised a fundraiser to support relief activities in Albania. It will be held on Sunday 1 December from 3-6pm at Central Park Recreation Reserve, Central Avenue, Shepparton East. There will be a $20 donation entry fee which includes free soft drinks. A barbecue will be operating with food available for purchase. The Greater Shepparton community will be warmly welcomed.
