Greater Shepparton City Council approved the Community Joint Use Agreement with the Department of Education and Training for the continued use of Westside.
Westside was constructed with financial support from Council, local community and the Department of Education. Since 2001 Westside has been operated on behalf of Greater Shepparton City Council by Riverlinks Venues.
The facility is used or school concerts and local performing organisations, as well as touring productions and the Riverlinks annual season.
“The agreement with the Department of Education and Training ensures that community groups, local organisations and touring productions can continue to hold events and present performances well into the future,” Director Community Kaye Thomson said.
“In fact, over 60% of the performances that are held at Westside are produced by local community or school organisations. It’s a great local facility that provides opportunities for local groups to perform on the stage.”
The term of the Joint Use Agreement with the Department of Education and Training for the use of Westside is set for another 10 years.
