Final preparations are underway at the Victoria Park Lake for Greater Shepparton’s biggest multicultural party, with Converge on the Goulburn just around the corner.
Converge is more than just a festival, it brings together food, culture and performances from Greater Shepparton’s Aboriginal and multicultural communities in celebrating the richness of our community.
Taking place on Saturday 19 March, you’re invited to come on down and take part in the free festivities. The festival is a colourful cultural celebration with nonstop music, movement, colour, art and tasty authentic foods from all corners of the globe.
Residents and visitors will have the chance to participate in interactive arts and cultural activities as well as tasting flavoursome cuisines cooked by some of our many local communities, food trucks and local businesses with 18 tantalising options to choose from. Enjoy the musical styles of Scott Darlow, One Spirit Africa, Bataola Son Subano and more.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Councillor Kim O’Keeffe encouraged everyone to come along to celebrate the diversity of our community.
“Converge on the Goulburn is an all-inclusive event and there will definitely be something for everyone to enjoy,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to have our multicultural residents share their culture, traditions and food with the wider community and to learn more about and celebrate the many different cultures that reside within our region.
“Bring a chair and picnic rug and try some of our locals’ delicious traditional food and celebrate together as a community.”
For more information on the Converge visit our website or Council’s Facebook page.
