Greater Shepparton City Council is reminding residents that it is their last chance to provide feedback on the 2022/2023 Draft Budget to help shape the allocation of funds for the upcoming financial year.
Community consultation on the Draft Budget is closing at 5pm on Thursday 26 May, with community members urged to make a submission before this date.
The Budget sets where Council will allocate funding for the provision of Capital Works and delivery of services for the next financial year. Feedback on the Draft Budget is encouraged and welcomed, with the community able to influence the allocation of funds by making a submission to Council on what services, programs and facilities they think should receive funding.
In previous years, community feedback has influenced the allocation of funding for several important community projects including the Aquamoves outdoor pool heating, Hastie Street, Tatura pedestrian crossing and the Tatura Museum extension.
Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe reminded residents that now was the time to share their feedback and help shape the 2022/2023 Budget.
“We urge the community to get involved in this extremely important process. Feedback is crucial in compiling the Budget and we are eager to know exactly what the community would like to see funded,” she said.
“Residents have until Thursday 26 May to make a submission on the draft document. I encourage everyone to have a read of the Draft Budget and share their feedback with us before it is too late.”
