Greater Shepparton City Council is reminding parents, carers and guardians that vacancies are still available for 2022 kindergarten and pre-kindergarten.
Registrations need to be submitted now to ensure you are able to secure a place at your centre of choice and to support your child’s access to an education and care program.
Registrations can be made online for both pre-kindergarten (two years before school) and kindergarten (year before school) in a bid to streamline the process.
There is limited availability across the municipality, with some services already at capacity. A variety of locations and programs are still available to suit the individual needs of children and their family.
There are currently vacancies at most kindergartens in the municipality. The full list is available online.
As of 2022, 3-year-old kindergarten, or pre-kindergarten will be funded by the Victorian Government for five hours a week. In 2023 the number of funded hours will be increased to 15 for services able to support these hours. Kindergarten and pre-kindergarten is free or low cost, for families that meet the eligibility criteria.
Early start to Kindergarten is available at no cost for three year old children who meet the criteria. More information is available from your early childhood service. If your child attends a kindergarten program in a long day care centre, fees may still apply. Please speak to your service about fees for 2022.
Council facilitates kindergarten registrations for most funded kindergarten programs in Greater Shepparton. Registration forms are available on Council’s website.
For more information contact Council on 03 5832 9700 or visit our kindergarten Enrolment page to discuss the process to ensure those, particularly with first time attendees, are fully informed.
