This week the Maude Street Mall Stage 1 hoarding will be removed with the playground ready to explore in Fraser Street.
To celebrate this milestone, Greater Shepparton City Council are hosting an exciting event at the new play space in Fraser Street.
This is an event for the whole family with free kids’ activities, live music and the chance to experience the brand new playground. Some local retailers and traders have organised special offerings for shoppers, so be sure to support the local businesses in the Mall and do some last minute Mother’s Day shopping. The Fraser Street car park will be closed for this event.
The most obvious feature of Stage 1 is the brand new, brightly coloured play space featuring stepping stones, slide and climbing equipment. Demolition and excavation as well as concreting, landscaping and in-ground service works were also completed.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said the idea to hold celebrations at the completion of each of the stages came from consultation with Mall business owners.
“It is a great way to invite the community back into the area and will be a fantastic, free event for families and anyone interested in the project,” she said.
Come down to the Fraser Street entrance to the Mall from 10am to 2pm this Saturday, 7 May 2022 to join in on the fun. For more information about the event, contact Council’s Place Manager on 5832 9700. To learn more about the Maude Street Mall Redevelopment Project, please visit our Major Projects page.
