Greater Shepparton City Council reminds residents playgrounds are closed and cannot be used by members of the public while regional Victoria is under Stage 3 restrictions.
In the past week, Council has experienced an increase in danger tape being removed, signs being pulled down and restrictions being ignored at playgrounds in Greater Shepparton.
Due to this, Council has been forced to cable tie signs, reapply tape and remove the swing sets from some playgrounds.
Regional Victoria re-entered Stage 3 restrictions on Wednesday 5 August for a period of six weeks. Victoria is a State of Emergency until 13 September 2020.
More information on Stage 3 restrictions and what they mean for residents can be found here.
An up-to-date breakdown on which Council services are open, closed, and operating under restrictions, can be found here. This page is being updated regularly.
“We all have a role to play in slowing down the spread. That means for at least the six week we are in Stage 3, we need to give up some things we had become accustomed to,” Council Mayor Cr Seema Abdullah said.
“Please stay home unless it is for caregiving, exercise, work and education or shopping for essentials, and stay up to date with what is open and closed in our region.
“Together, we can get through this.”
