Recover Together flood recovery event

Greater Shepparton City Council in partnership with Freeza, the Victorian Government, Youth Affairs Council Victoria and Headspace is proud to be hosting Recover Together, a flood recovery event for local youth this Saturday.

The event will feature live music, a BMX, skate and scooter competition, a skate exhibition from professional riders, food, yoga classes, art workshops and a DJ workshop.

Recover Together will be held at Ferrari Park in Mooroopna on Saturday 1 April 2023 from 12pm to 5pm. All ages are welcome to attend, with the event alcohol, smoke and drug free.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said Recover Together was an event focused around the young people in our region.

“Everyone knows our region has had a tough few months following the October 2002 flood event. The region was significantly impacted in many ways and residents from all areas of Greater Shepparton were affected,” he said.

“We can often forget that the younger generations also feel the effects of emergency events such as a flood. Recover Together is an afternoon just for them. A chance for our young people to come together, have some fun, have a skate or scooter ride, take part in a workshop and enjoy some food.”

“The event has been planned by young people for young people, so it is one we are sure they will enjoy. I encourage people to head to Ferrari Park in Mooroopna on Saturday afternoon and join in on the activities.”

Tickets are free. Register your attendance.

Recover Together is a Victorian Government initiative.
